Oklahoma City, OK - HRLogix, a provider of web-based recruiting management technologies, today announced the launch of a unique employment website, www.katrinagaming.com, to help find work for gaming workers displaced in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
According to Maryann Gagnon, HRLogix President, several major casinos were destroyed in Louisiana and Mississippi, leaving more than 10,000 skilled and experienced gaming workers without employment.
ìThousands of people in the gaming industry are out of a job as a result of this tragedy,î said Gagnon. ìThe paperless hiring systems our company is known for, as well as our national network of over 140 casino clients, puts us in a unique position to offer rapid job relocation assistance to the recovery effort - especially to those in the gaming industry.î
HRLogix has enlisted the cooperation of more than 140 casinos in the United States to create an online community where job applicants can view a collective pool of thousands of available gaming positions currently available. Casino partners include MGM Grand, Penn National Gaming, Pinnacle Entertainment Inc., Mandalay Bay, The Venetian, Mohegan Sun, The Borgata, Pechanga Resort among many others. The company has also coordinated the efforts of many junior colleges and unemployment offices to offer space, computers and assistance for displaced workers.
ìOur goal is to offer support to our clients and their employees that have been affected, and give back to the industry that has been so good to us,î said Gagnon.
The website, www.katrinagaming.com, will be available to job-seekers beginning Wednesday, September 21rd at 8 a.m.
