Amsterdam was packed on Sunday 2nd June with runners, well-wishers and the families of 3,000 runners who took part in the Zuidas run for charity. A fun run supported by businesses in Amsterdam, the Zuidas, in its fifth year, attracts business professionals who sign up as a team to run for charity.
A team of 9 runners from the Darwin NL office opted for a mix of the short (4 EM), and long (10 EM) runs through Amsterdam’s parks and along the Amstel River. www.darwinrecruitment.nl
Proceeds from this year’s event went to the VUmc Cancer Centre in Amsterdam – a leader in the field of early diagnosis for women and an academic centre for all cancers which supports services in Europe.
So how did the Darwin team do?
“We ran for charity and put in a decent performance. Out of 3,000 runners we came in within the top 20% so I’m really proud of what we achieved. It was a beautiful day and we had a passionate team who ran together and that is what we do as a team in business. These events are great for team building too” says Derk Rijntjes, Country Manager for The Netherlands.
Darwin’s employees give their time to a wide range of charitable initiatives and regularly take part in community and charitable projects in the countries in which they are based.
