And we will mark our 10th anniversary in a brand-new location - London’s iconic ExCel Arena! With excellent transport links by underground, Elizabeth Line, Crossrail, and Docklands Light Railway, as well as the IFC Cloud Cable Car and Uber Boat along the Thames for those who like to travel in style, we are sure that our 10th anniversary Expo will be a memorable experience.
We are proud to welcome first time media partners Future of Work, HR Review, and The HR World, alongside Personnel Today Jobs and OnRec, to help cover the insights, case studies and analysis we’ll be sharing during the day.
This year’s InHouse Recruitment Expo is being held at a time when InHouse Recruitment teams are really in the spotlight. Talent shortages, skills gaps, and the need to adapt recruitment strategies to accommodate flexible, remote and hybrid working are all major priorities for hiring organisations. The relentless advance of AI in our daily working lives creates opportunities to improve the recruitment experience but also risks leaving us with a ‘recruiterless’ recruiting function. Candidates still need the human touch for what is often a crucial event in their working lives.
The challenges for most teams might vary across industries and regions but need to be proactively addressed through creative recruiting strategies, am increased investment in upskilling and reskilling, a hiring for skills strategy, an ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion, and establishing a clear definition of your employer brand.
Help is at hand though. For our 10th anniversary event we have lined up one of our strongest and most insightful schedules of seminars and masterclasses, with experienced and knowledgeable speakers ready to help you keep on top of the latest trends and developments, learn about the latest products and technologies, all whilst retaining our celebrated mix of networking, connecting, sharing, and learning.
In our seminar sessions you can hear Andrea Sims, Head of Recruitment at construction and facilities management specialists Skanska, talk about how they have transformed their recruitment strategy through the effective capturing and utilisation of data. Emi Beredugo, senior manager recruiting enablement at European software business Elastic will explain how they have evolved their talent acquisition function into a high value strategic resourcing team to help drive competitive advantage for the business, whilst Chris Preston (co-founder of The Culture Builders) will explore how to best talk about and showcase company culture as an effective tool to hire the right talent.
Social mobility is an essential part of your DE&I strategy, and Paula Kemp (Head of employer engagement at The Social Mobility Commission) will help us to understand what actions and initiatives we can take to ensure that socio-economic diversity cuts across all our teams and functions, and in a separate session Jane Hatton, founder of Evenbreak, will give us the view of the recruitment process from the perspective of disabled candidates, offering advice on how to remove barriers and create a truly diverse workforce. Meanwhile, in one of our masterclass sessions, Wes Beard, Managing Director of konversable, helps us to ‘chat better’ by using the power and reach of WhatsApp to engage and communicate with talent.
Victoria Bombas, a director at PwC, shows how a digital first approach, enabling automation and simplification, improves the hiring journey for candidates and hiring managers. In one session definitely not be missed, culture specialist Colin Minto, will share his research into burnout and stress to help all of us understand the drivers to being more resilient and when to ask for help.
Rachel Dalboth, Director of the Forum for In-house Recruitment Managers’
(The Firm) Centre of Excellence will be looking at the skills and capabilities you need to master for a new era of recruiting. And our not-to-be-missed closing Keynote Panel is called ‘From LI to AI - How InHouse Recruitment has evolved over the last 10 years’ and will involve analyst, author, commentator, and podcaster Mervyn Dinnen, along with session speakers Emi Beredugo and Colin Minto, for a reflective look to celebrate our 10th Anniversary InHouse Recruitment Expo.
We can’t wait to welcome you to our new home at ExCel Arena! Our 10th anniversary event will bring together the best speakers and case studies in our sector for a day of insights and learning, helping you to understand the best ways to attract, engage and hire the talent you need.
