Leading recruitment franchise business Select Appointments has welcomed the news that demand for staff hit a fifteen year high in August.
In the latest jobs report produced by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) it was revealed that demand for staff in August increased at the fastest pace since April 1998.
The report also stated that growth of staff appointments continued to rise, although eased slightly from previous months. Competition for skilled candidates continued to drive up pay.
Graeme McKinnon, managing director of Select Appointments commented: “It is clear from the report that employers are struggling to find staff with the right skill set and as a result this is pushing up wage growth. This uncertainty in the market means that employers are looking for specialist advice from high quality recruitment agencies such as Select Appointments. Select has an enviable reputation for providing clients with cost effective solutions in helping them find the right people for the right job.”
