G4S announces launch of new Facebook presence

As a part of the continuing focus on using social media as a tool in the recruitment process G4S made the decision to develop their Facebook presence using specialist agency Netnatives to realise their goals.

Facebook has long been seen as a purely social channel with very little actual value to many brands, however the last 18 months to 2 years has seen something of a shift in the way that businesses view Facebook and its relevance to their audience. From a recruiting standpoint it is absolutely the right medium for G4S to engage with candidates and show them what the business actually does, who the people are who work for us and the depth of opportunity available to those looking to join G4S.

“With the launch of a Facebook presence G4S has shown that we are committed to developing a joined up approach to using social media and to our candidates. We are now using a number of social channels to communicate career help and advice and to drive people back to our corporate careers centre. “ Matt Burney G4S Resourcing and Community Executive.

G4S and Netnatives worked extremely hard to ensure the experience of the corporate career centre www.careers.g4s.com was replicated as closely as possible within the framework of Facebook. This presented its own challenges as the G4S Career Centre is a hugely interactive site built on the Talent On View platform and was designed to offer candidates social media interaction and a range of career tools. Netnatives’ creative team worked very closely with G4S to ensure the brand remained consistent and the look and feel of the career centre was very clearly replicated.

“The goal of much of G4S’social activity is to ensure it remains consistent in how we communicate the employer brand and how candidates are able to interact with G4S. It was extremely important to find a partner that could deliver on this.” Matt Burney G4S Resourcing and Community Executive

“Net Natives is proud to have worked alongside G4S as one of their social channel partners. G4S recognised that an essential part of their pioneering direct resourcing strategy was to create an effective social destination for candidate attraction and engagement on the largest social network. By using Net Natives to build their fully functioning Facebook career presence, with a dynamic feed of jobs, embedded corporate videos and every aspect of their corporate career centre, G4S is now able to utilise the strength and power of Facebook to deliver their innovative recruitment goals.” – Steve Evans, MD Netnatives

The G4S was launched in November 2010 to service the recruiting needs of the global G4S community. As a business employing over 630,000 employees G4S has larger recruiting needs than most companies and wanted to develop some clear strategies around using new technology, engaging with social media and creating an environment for candidates that was useful, helpful and engaging.

Our commitment to Social Recruiting methodology and excellence is a key component of our Global Direct Resourcing Strategy. By blending emerging and innovative social attraction and engagement opportunities with our advanced suite of recruiting technology and traditional methods, we are exposing the G4S Employer Brand to the widest possible internal and external global audiences to achieve our 'Best People' values and objectives. Colin Minto, Head of Resourcing, G4S Plc.
