Greenings International, a global advisory, executive search and HR development & consulting firm, has collaborated with experienced law firm management and recruitment professionals to launch a specialist Legal Division.
Greenings Legal division has been formed to help private practice and in-house clients address three key areas of recruitment: business growth through search and selection of strategic hires; response to the increasing regulatory, compliance and risk management demands placed on law firms and businesses operating in the legal marketplace; and flexibility in staffing irregular deal flow on an as needs basis - from ‘Partner to Paralegal’.
The division is led by John Cullen, Head of Legal Practice, who has 20 years experience in recruitment and consultancy for the legal profession. Supporting John is Chairman of the Legal Practice, Bill Richards, a former managing and senior partner of Lawrence Graham LLP who has focused on risk management and regulatory compliance for the firm since retiring as senior partner in 2008.
Andrew Greening, Managing Partner (Search and Talent Development) commented; “Greenings International has been immersed in the payments sector for over 14 years as a cross-border resourcing and talent development firm. During this time we’ve seen the demand for specialist regulatory and compliance search and selection increase dramatically, which has led to a natural cross-over with the legal sector. This collaboration enables us to offer specialised legal recruitment and advisory services for a range of clients extending throughout the legal and financial services sectors, from traditional law firms to payment service providers and stockbrokers.”
Bill Richards, Chairman, Legal Practice commented; "In the last five years, the market for lawyers and their recruitment has been an immensely challenging one. With changes to the way in which legal services can be provided introduced by the Legal Services Act, the future is going to be about innovation and entrepreneurship in the approach to lawyer recruitment. We have seen the introduction of off-shoring, outsourcing and the increasing use of temporary or interim lawyers embraced as both law firms and lawyers express a greater willingness to work flexibly. Change will continue and the businesses and recruiters that adopt and adapt to these changes will be the ones that thrive."
John Cullen, Head of Legal Practice added; “What we’re offering the legal sector is designed to be a focused approach to the key challenges faced by law firms and in-house teams in the current market. Whilst we offer global search and selection for all role types and levels, we also provide extensive advisory services to create balanced, proactive recruitment strategies that cover any given legal specialism, current and projected resourcing needs, and help building flexible leveraged models to staff irregular deal flow.”
As part of the launch of the legal division Greenings will be hosting a breakfast briefing on Mobile Payments: The Convergence of Financial Services and Digital Businesses in partnership with Osborne Clarke on 13th September 2013. Confirmed speakers include senior executives from Boku, Droplet, Marks & Spencer, the Payments Council and Wirecard. 3 hour accredited CPD is available to Law Society members attending the entire seminar.
