Users of the new Windows Phone 7 will be able to search for jobs quickly and easily wherever they are with the Jobsite Jobs app, which will be available for free download from launch of the new handset today (21st October).
The app enables the user to search for jobs from all sectors by job title, location, job type (e.g. permanent/contract) and date added to the site. Results can be sorted by relevance, salary or date. Jobs of interest can be saved to a shortlist to apply later or can be applied for via the phone if the individual’s CV is stored on Jobsite. Jobs can also be shared so you can help family or friends that are looking for a new opportunity.
Additionally, the app features content from Jobsite’s award winning BeMyInterviewer tool (www.jobsite.co.uk/bemyinterviewer), which helps candidates prepare for interview with interactive video content from leading bosses and organisations including Duncan Bannatyne, Virgin Atlantic and Sky.
Keith Potts, MD of Jobsite.co.uk comments; “We’re extremely proud to have been chosen as one of only a few select brands to produce apps for the Windows Phone 7 launch. Featuring alongside great names like Tesco, BBC and National Rail, it’s great that Microsoft recognise both the important role that job hunting plays in people’s lives and the changing ways that people are choosing to search for jobs.
“When comparing the traffic to Jobsite via mobile and desktop we can see a clear trend for people to use their phones on the commute to and from work, and also later at night when working on a computer is less convenient. The Jobsite Jobs app on Windows Phone 7 enables job seekers to search for jobs whenever and wherever they want, ensuring they never miss an opportunity. In a jobs market which is still competitive, having this increased access to new jobs is extremely important.
“This commitment to making it easier for job seekers to find and apply for new jobs also helps to ensure that our recruiters continue to find the best people and fill their vacancies quickly.”
