Lander Associates, the specialist performance management and training consultancy has launched Lander HR to deliver HR services to the recruitment sector.
Paul Marsh, the former HR and Corporate Services Director of Advantage Professional has joined Lander Associates to head up delivering the services, which will include a mix of HR consultancy, workshops and general advice. Paul has over twenty years experience with recruitment brands such as Crone Corkill FSS and Strategi HR as well as blue chips such as BskyB, Tesco and Dixons.
“We’re really thrilled to be bringing this much needed and unique service to the market”, said Fiona Lander, Managing Director of Lander Associates. “Recruitment is the ultimate people business and there is a huge opportunity to both improve and develop the HR function within recruitment organisations – whatever their size and structure. There are still many recruiters which do not have any form of standalone HR function – often it ends up falling within the remit of one of the Directors – or on the to do list of an administrator or office manager. And for larger organisations that do have an HR function, there is currently no recruitment industry specific training for HR professionals who want to develop. If recruitment organisations want to grow then they also have to attract and retain talent - consequently there is a need for in depth expertise and support around a whole range of HR issues.”
Lander HR will offer advice, development workshops and interim HR management services tailored to the recruitment sector. “Whether the need is for telephone support through our HR hotline or an interim manager to design a rewards and recognition policy, staff handbook or appraisal system, we’ll be able to deliver”, adds Lander. “We’ll also be able to assist with satisfaction and engagement surveys, assessment centres and performance management as well one to one coaching for HR professionals to enable upskilling both technically and behaviourally. It really is a completely bespoke offering.”
“There is a definite gap in the market” says Marsh. There are literally hundreds of recruitment firms out there run by entrepreneurial leaders who have ambitious growth plans. If they are to fulfil those ambitions then they are going to need more forward thinking HR systems and policies than they may have in place currently. While there are various generalist HR advisors and helplines out there, the differentiator for us is that we have that commercial knowledge of the recruitment sector and really understand the industry specific issues that arise. It’s a service run by recruitment experts for recruitment experts. For us that’s a pretty powerful proposition.”
