The new platform will offer jobseekers access to training and development courses designed to help further their career
Provides jobseekers with wider range of career options on totaljobs.com
Totaljobs.com launches a new service for UK jobseekers today which will provide access to training and development programmes to help them improve their employability.
The launch follows research into jobseeker perceptions on the viability of changing careers in the present climate, which found that almost half (43%) would invest in a month’s training to facilitate a career change. In addition, the research found jobseekers are increasingly positive, with almost 3 in 5 more confident in their ability to change careers compared to a year ago; as well as two thirds (66%) believing that it is never too late to change careers.
Mike Fetters, Learning Zone Director, totaljobs.com: “We recognise that the employment market is tough, but we know that jobseekers are constantly looking to further their career and improve. There is ambition out there but this has been consistently stifled by job cuts and low employment rates. This is precisely the reason we have launched the Learning Zone. It is important that we can offer a service that can empower jobseekers to take charge of their career – whether it is in the same industry or in a totally different sector. We believe this platform can help deliver this.”
The courses will be available to over 6.1 million jobseekers across the Totaljobs Group which comprises totaljobs.com, careerstructure.co.uk, caterer.co.uk, cwjobs.co.uk, retailchoice.co.uk, salestarget.com and catererglobal.com. The offer will provide professional courses for businesses to help train their workforce as well as individual jobseekers looking to develop in their career.
Learning Zone will offer a wide variety of courses at all levels, from university, postgraduate, distance learning, further education as well as e-learning. Courses are far-ranging in terms of content, from time management and negotiation skills to leadership, stress management, effective communication and marketing. The scope of courses offered within the Learning Zone are suited to all levels of jobseeker across totaljobs.com of which 27% are at team leader and management level, 13% at senior management or higher and 39% are skilled / manual or office worker level.
The Learning Zone is already being used by some of the biggest course providers in the UK including the Open University, University of Nottingham, University of Leicester, BPP, Anglia Ruskin, the Home Learning College and ICS.
