New Career Site Launches for Women In Technology

New career advice site womenintech.co.uk launched

Due to the huge demand for Women working in technology, Technojobs are excited to announce the launch of their new site: www.womenintech.co.uk.

There is a clear lack of female professionals working in the IT and Tech sector. Just 17% of the IT and Technology work force in the UK are women.

WomeninTech.co.uk is a website dedicated to women already in or looking to start their career in the tech sector. It provides specialist career advice, case studies, job opportunities and employer profiles.

Due to the demand overall for Technology talent combined with the gender gap, the demand for female tech professionals is growing and the objective for Women in Tech is to provide case studies and content to inspire new candidates into the market.

Charlotte Attwood of Womenintech.co.uk feels that it is crucial to promote the availability and demand of employment opportunities for women within the IT and technology sector: “Women in Tech is focusing on the huge gender divide within the Technology sector. I think it is really important to encourage women, that IT and technology offers great career opportunities.  We want to target young students looking to start their career - only 7% of students taking computer science a-level are female and this isn’t good enough.  Additionally, there are fantastic opportunities for those who want to re-skill later in their career“

“Technology is also not just about coding, it encompasses a range of skills including Web Design, Analytics, Cyber Security, Tech Support and so much more.
