New Online Tool to Assess Workplace English

Saville Consulting, one of the UK’s leading Occupational Psychology Consultancies, has launched a new product for rapid assessment of an individual’s ability to understand and use workplace English. This move follows an ever increasing dependence of not only UK, but businesses in China, India and other parts of the world, for staff who can understand and use English, rapidly becoming a necessity in our global economy.


The introduction of Saville Consulting’s Workplace English Tests means that line managers and recruiters as well as recruitment consultancies can quickly screen applicants on their level of English competency.


These online Workplace English Tests assess, in less than 20 minutes, an individual’s ability to understand and use English in their workplace. Tests are available for five different industry sectors;

The costs to UK businesses of employing people with insufficient basic skills such as competent English are well documented. A survey commissioned by Learn Direct found that “More than six in ten workers in the manual sector admitted to losing their companies’ money owing to a lack of basic skills, as did four in ten retail employees.”
