WYGU.com launch Social Media Internships at campuses across the UK and abroad

WYGU - the social network for careers guidance, education, and e-mentoring, kicks off its Internship programme next week with 30 Interns from over 20 Institutions nationally and internationally

The paid Internship offers real experience in using social media and 'Word of Mouth' marketing to promote how WYGU can help those at the crossroads, with iPads up for grabs for the Interns that run the most effective campaigns.

Five of the best Interns will then be invited to complete an advanced paid Enternship (an entrepreneurial Internship within a successful start-up) with WYGU and its partners Student and Graduate Publishing.

As a part of the programme, interns will visit 1000 Heads, the global leaders in social media and word of mouth marketing; who have helped develop social brands for Nokia, Heineken, and Mars.

Through the scheme, the Interns and Enterns will get an opportunity to learn about the business and gain valuable experience in an entrepreneurial environment. The final five will have the opportunity to continue developing the work that was started in the initial campaign, contribute towards brand and company development and find out what it's really like to be part of a successful start-up.

And once the Enternship is complete, one student will be invited to take up a paid six-month work placement with WYGU.

Alun Baker, WYGU CEO and Founder, said: “WYGU has been developed to help people find the career they really want by connecting individuals who need advice with those able to give it.

By offering the Interns real experience, as well as on the job training, we hope to not only expand our community, but give something back in the spirit of WYGU. We look forward to welcoming eager interns into the WYGU team.”
