SHL, the global leader in talent assessment solutions in the workplace, has announced that EDF Energy, one of the UK’s largest energy companies has started using SHL’s online assessments to improve its graduate recruitment process.
EDF Energy has integrated SHL’s psychometric assessments into its UK graduate application and recruitment infrastructure provided by GradWeb. The online application process consists of candidates’ credentials being rated against a prescribed set of criteria, followed by candidates taking an SHL numerical ability test. Successful candidates then undergo a telephone interview and ultimately attend an assessment centre.
“We decided to outsource our graduate recruitment process to GradWeb due to the increasing volume of applicants and were keen to include SHL’s online assessments to ensure we had a robust candidate sifting process in place,” said Ranjini Sachin, Graduate Recruitment Manager, EDF Energy. “It is vitally important to EDF Energy that we continue to maintain the highest possible standard of graduate recruitment in order to bring in fresh talent and develop the leaders and technical experts of tomorrow.”
“By incorporating SHL’s online ability assessments into its graduate recruitment process, EDF Energy is implementing efficiencies to find the most suitable applicants with the long-term potential to succeed,” commented Chris Clarke, VP Global Alliances, SHL. “Ability testing is one of the most effective methods of predicting job success and by allowing candidates to undertake this as part of an online application process, EDF Energy saves money and time, while making sure the best candidates are selected for further assessment.”
GradWeb’s Head of Business Development, Ben Jackson, added: “EDF Energy is a fantastic client, and one which believes that the best candidates will be inspired by the best possible candidate experience. Our outsourcing services and recruitment technology give EDF Energy a seamless, best-practice extension to its in-house recruitment team.”
