A leading education finance software company has taken on two young apprentices as it continues to expand its operation.
HCSS Education has recruited two IT and desktop support apprentices from Macclesfield College. Joshua Kimpton and Jack Wilkinson, both 18 years old, have joined the company as technical services apprentices to gain an insight into the industry and receive on-the-job training.
The pair will spend one day a week at Macclesfield College to study for a NVQ in IT and four days a week at HCSS Education in Macclesfield where they will learn how to support an IT network, servers and desktops, along with how to maintain software within a small business environment.
At the end of the 18-month apprenticeship the pair will achieve a City and Guilds Certificate and Diploma for IT Users.
Howard Jackson, CEO at HCSS Education, said: “We are extremely pleased that we have been able to offer apprenticeships to both Joshua and Jack. The pair have demonstrated determination, flair and a strong willingness to learn, which is great to see. Both are fitting in well with the team and I’m sure will go far.
“We have a good relationship with Macclesfield College and other local providers of education, so will strive to provide a continuous array of opportunities that are beneficial to local students.”
Commenting on the apprenticeship opportunity, Joshua Kimpton said: “I have always had a strong interest in computers and technology and am keen to progress with a career in IT. Therefore when the opportunity came up to gain an apprenticeship with HCSS Education, I jumped at the chance as it will equip me with the skills and knowledge I need to do well in this industry.”
Jack Wilkinson added: “To be selected to join this apprenticeship scheme is fantastic and I’m really looking forward to learning from the experienced team of technicians at HCSS.”
