Search start-up Adzuna.co.uk announces today that it has acquired the traffic of Oodle.co.uk. This is the first acquisition by the VC-backed company which aims to change the way people find their next job, property and car. In its first year of operation, Adzuna has grown organically to over 1 million visitors a month in the UK.
With over 2 million live classified listings, Adzuna is now the most abundant classifieds search engine in the UK, listing nearly every job, property and car on the market. From today, all Oodle.co.uk users in these categories will be redirected to the Adzuna site, while users in other categories such as pets and boats will be forwarded to Mobiya.co.uk. Adzuna will also provide ongoing service to a number of Oodle advertisers and affiliates in the UK.
The announcement comes on the back of news in November that Adzuna’s jobs and housing data is powering the “Number 10 Dashboard” - a real time data app used daily by the Prime Minister, which aids government decision-making on the UK economy.
Adzuna’s rapid user growth has also been reflected in its financials, with revenues doubling every 3 months throughout 2012. The search engine also has plans for significant international expansion in 2013.
