Allied Carpets is rolling out an online recruitment campaign through HR Portal. The programme will cover all its 220 stores throughout the UK and ensure swift and smooth handling of potential candidates.
Allied Carpets recruits between 15 and 20 people every month ranging from warehouse trainees to senior management. Given this wide variation of staff it seeks to employ, the company must ensure each vacancy is placed on the best jobsite most likely to yield appropriate candidates.
HR Portal will act as Allied Carpets' media agency. It will research and monitor the crowded job site market, make recommendations, develop and place the advertising. Then, using its innovative grading software applications can be quality assessed to help gauge the performance of the advertising media.
We recognised online recruitment was key to attracting candidates at all levels and wanted to improve what we were already doing, says Philip Ryan-Culver, HR manager at Allied Carpets. HR Portal uses sophisticated monitoring software and has extensive knowledge of the most effective job sites for each vacancy, continues Ryan-Culver. Its expertise will prove invaluable in placing adverts where they will attract not just more candidates but suitable candidates, he concludes.
Through us, Allied Carpets knows it will be placing adverts on those sites most likely to yield good candidates, says David Silverman, managing director, HR Portal. In addition, the economies of scale we enjoy with job sites makes Allied Carpets' online recruitment both viable and effective, concludes Silverman.
