Telecom Paper reports that the number of Internet users in Austria has doubled over the past three years.
According to new research from INTEGRAL and Fessel-GfK, 3.7 million Austrians are now online, equivalent to 55 percent of the adult population.
Around 150,000 new Internet users have gone online since the beginning of 2002, according to the report.
The number of females online in Austria has risen from 31 percent in 1997 to 44 percent in 2002.
The study also indicates that 2.7 million people in Austria go online several times a week.
