Recruitment technology company, CareerFever, has joined forces with The Guardian newspaper to launch its interactive CD-ROM to more than 200,000 UK graduate jobseekers. The unique virtual reality careers building allows jobseekers to determine which of the leading companies are right for them, fully evaluate the opportunities and apply directly to the companies of their choice.
Simon Osborne, CareerFever's Managing Director, commented: _We are delighted to launch this product with The Guardian as we believe it to be the perfect graduate recruitment platform. The association will help us build on the success already achieved in the Netherlands where our product has proved to be an enormous asset to jobseekers and employers alike._
Stuart Taylor, Advertisement Director, Guardian Newspapers Limited, added:
_The Guardian carries more recruitment advertising* than all the other national quality newspapers combined. We have a strong relationship with the graduate market, by working with CareerFever we are able to offer added value to
both advertisers and jobhunters._
The Guardian will promote the CD-ROM to advertisers and undertake distribution to students. CareerFever will sell space in the virtual careers building.
More than 40 top blue-chip recruiters, including JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Marks & Spencer, HBOS, Qinetiq, Unilever, Logica, and Cap Gemini E&Y have become customers of CareerFever since it started in the UK just over twelve months ago.
The recruitment CD-ROM also incorporates electronic candidate screening. Candidates can be screened using a competency-based assessment test specific to each employer. Only those suitable for the company will have their applications fast-tracked to prospective employers, massively reducing the administrative burden for the Human Resources department.
