Free IT and Business training

To celebrate merger of global e-learning powerhouses

Having retained the SkillSoft name, newly merged e-learning providers SmartForce and SkillSoft are offering free online learning to all to demonstrate the benefits of e-Learning to individuals and businesses.

Kevin Young, managing director of SkillSoft across Europe and the Middle East said:
The new SkillSoftís combined IT and Business Skills courseware and referenceware libraries now offer 300,000 learning objects and more than 50,000 hours of e-Learning content. We wanted to offer some of this content free to individuals who may not currently have access to e-Learning so that they can experience the benefits for themselves.

It is vital to the success of our economy that UK employees are adequately skilled ñ for their own development as well as to support the achievement of
business results. Research from the US shows a direct link between stock market performance and the amount companies invest in training their staff. This was supported by our own ëe-Learning Benchmark Surveyí last year where 60% of respondents believed that their investment in e-Learning had delivered a positive impact on their share performance.

SkillSoft supports its customers in the achievement of these kinds of business results by driving the generation of intellectual capital. By offering free training to any one who wants to try it, the benefits of e-learning can be realised by everyone who does it - from board-level executives to managers and junior level staff.

The courses can be accessed via SkillSoftís website, using a standard modem. To commence your free training visit www.skillsoft.com, click on the ëSkillSoft Demo Centerí button (located on the left-hand-side of the home page) and choose from the selection of IT courses, Business courses or
referenceware. Learners can elect to complete the training in bite-sized chunks or in one session ñ whichever is most convenient to them.
