In a media first, the Guardian is to launch a new science supplement each Thursday in association with Nature, the worldís leading science journal.
The partnership will see the supplement, Life, to be published from April 3, co-branded to provide the latest science news each week, with Nature providing one page of the latest science news. Naturejobs, the careers resource of Nature, will now offer job advertising across their own publication and the Guardian, allowing advertisers to reach two key audiences at a reduced rate. The audiences include A-level students to PhD scientists, lab technicians to CEOs, education to industry and from pharma to finance.
Edited by Emily Wilson, the new G3 will cover the whole range of areas that fall under the science banner and incorporate Online, the current Thursday supplement. Examining how science affects our lives, the new supplement will take in nature, technology, medicine, environment and many other issues.
David Swinbanks, Publishing Director of Nature, said: This exciting partnership gives us the opportunity to reach out to new audiences with readable and authoritative science writing, backed up by the tremendous advantage of the common platform for job advertising offered by Naturejobs and the Guardian.
