Jobseekers should use online recruitment, expert urges

Jobseekers have been encouraged to make use of online recruitment sites as this is the method many employers are now using to fill vacancies, it has been claimed.

According to Remy Piazza, managing director of CareerBuilder Canada, six out of
ten employers say that online recruitment has helped them to successfully find
applicants for positions.

Many are also broadening the list of places they look for candidates.

Mr Piazza told jobseekers to explore generalist sites, niche boards and local job boards and post your resume on as many as you feel could benefit your search.

He also suggested that they try to boost their exposure by making use of the functions many online recruitment sites offer.

Meanwhile, Paul Burgess, managing director of eploy, recently told Onrec.com that small businesses may want to consider using the internet to help them find staff as it can save them money.
