Kingston Barnes is on a mission to smash its most ambitious fundraising goal yet

Reaching a total of £50,000 raised for charity by the end of 2025.

Giving back has been part of the Kingston Barnes DNA since its founding in 2013. Over the years, the team has supported incredible causes such as Children’s Hospice South West, The Lord Mayor of Bristol’s Children Appeal, The Imperial Sports Centre Charity, and many more, including funding a state-of-the-art, life-saving incubator for St Michael’s Hospital in Bristol.

Kingston Barnes' first challenge of 2025 took place last Friday, 4th July, and saw the KB team take part in a brutal 25,000-rep boxathon in support of Empire Fighting Chance, a charity that has been transforming lives through boxing for nearly two decades! The team had a target to raise a huge £1,000 for the charity, and yesterday (9th July) they managed to exceed this ambitious goal and achieve 35,332 reps in total!

The challenge saw the team push through a full-body gauntlet of boxing and functional fitness, from skipping and pad work to punch bags, battle ropes, and speed ball, all to raise funds for Empire’s incredible work changing young lives in our city.

The team at Kingston Barnes has taken on some serious challenges to help the recruitment agency reach its ambitious target. From cycling from England to France, (on exercise bikes!) rowing the English Channel (on a rowing machine), and climbing Mount Everest (on a step master) to hosting 5-a-side football tournaments, festive quizzes, and even a 24-hour run, the team has never shied away from a challenge in the name of fundraising. This commitment is reflected in its goal to hit a significant milestone: £50,000 raised for charity to date.

James Kingston, Director and Founder, said: “It was one of our goals to reach £50,000 in 2025. We were so ambitious about hitting the target that we even included it in the Kingston Barnes timeline that proudly sits in our HQ. We are thrilled to have reached our £1,000 target for Empire Fighting Chance yesterday, a huge thank you to my incredible team and the team at Empire Fighting Chance too!

This year, to help us get to our £50,000 target,  we’ve planned our annual 5-a-side Football Tournament in support of the Imperial Sports Ground Charity, our annual festive quiz, and of course taken on the brand-new Box-Rox challenge last week. It’s been an honour to give back to the community we so proudly serve, and we’ll be celebrating when we reach this magnificent milestone.”

A representative from Empire Fighting Chance said: “It was a pleasure to host the Kingston Barnes team at Empire Fighting Chance for the very first Box Rox Challenge!! The Kingston Barnes team gave 110% in both their challenge and their fundraising - where they have already raised over £1,000 to support the work of Empire Fighting Chance!”
