Major Contract Win for Manpower

150 new seats at Manpower''s Contact Centre in Selkirk

Manpower is recruiting 150 new staff for its state of the art multimedia contact centre at Selkirk, in the Borders region of Scotland. The new staff are needed to fill positions created by recent new business wins.

This is the largest single staff intake since the centre opened in October 2001 and will bring the total number employed there to 278.

Callum Houston, the contact centre''s Director of Operations said: We have already attracted a number of high profile clients to the centre. Selkirk offers businesses a world class facility and highly skilled workforce, with
cost and management complexity savings and quality and productivity improvements that come with effective outsourcing.

Houston said that he could not reveal details of the new business since it was commercially sensitive, but the Centre was currently working with major national and international companies in a variety of sectors such as
insurance, online retailing and fast food.

Houston added: Selkirk is the first contact centre to combine best of breed facilities and technology, with sophisticated people management strategies.
Working at the centre is very challenging and serviced focussed, but we provide excellent training facilities and an outstanding and friendly working environment.

We want our staff to build a rewarding career with us and our development and training programmes were recently given an award for excellence at the 2002 Call Centre Management Association annual award ceremony.

As part of its recruiting drive Manpower is holding two special Open Days on August 4th and August 11th 2002 to allow potential workers to meet current staff, talk to them about the job and experience the vibrant atmosphere for
themselves.

We are saying come along, look around, talk to our staff, fill in an application form and take the first steps towards a new career with a company which is a world leader in its field, said Houston.
