Monster Announces Fourth Annual Diversity Leadership Program

Linking College Students with Top Companies at Saint Xavier University

MAYNARD, Mass. & CHICAGO - Building on the success of the first three years of the Diversity Leadership Program (DLP), Monster, the leading global online careers property and flagship brand of Monster Worldwide, today announced the next DLP weekend seminar that will take place at the Saint Xavier University in Chicago, July 30-31. The DLP is designed to help college students develop life skills for success and explore future career opportunities by uniting them with some of Americaís top companies.

For this yearís program - out of more than 23,000 applications - 1,800 college sophomores, juniors and seniors have been selected to take part in six separate weekend seminars. In an engaging, interactive environment, the DLP will provide students with an opportunity to network and build practical skills including resume writing, goal setting, career development and diversity awareness. The lively breakout groups are presented by industry professionals.

Students will attend one of six symposiums taking place during the summer of 2005 on the following campuses:

-- July 9-10 St. Johnís University (New York)
-- July 16-17 University of Texas (Arlington, Texas)
-- July 23-24 University of Georgia (Athens, Georgia)
-- July 30-31 Saint Xavier University (Chicago)
-- August 6-7 Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore)
-- August 13-14 Chapman University (Los Angeles)

DLP selection criteria is based upon a variety of factors, including a studentís demonstrated leadership abilities, extracurricular activities, and GPA. Through the contributions of the participating sponsors, the program is provided at no cost to these selected students.

PricewaterhouseCoopers is the premier and National Platinum sponsor for the events. According to Amy Van Kirk, PricewaterhouseCoopers National Campus Recruiting Leader: Diversity is a key initiative for our firm and DLP is right in-line with this initiative. We are looking for the top candidates who are leaders within their peer group. This program attracts those types of participants and gives us an opportunity to interact with them and build relationships with them. In addition to its Platinum sponsorship of the programs, PricewaterhouseCoopers will also be awarding a $1,000 scholarship during each of the six events.

Other National sponsors for the Monster DLP include: US Navy, Target, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Cardinal Health, Verizon Wireless and American Airlines.

The DLP was founded by Monster in 2002, led by Chuck Knippen, Program Manager and Founder, Monster Diversity Leadership Program. We wanted to provide students of diverse backgrounds the opportunity to learn the necessary skills for success during and after college directly from professionals successful in prominent companies, said Knippen. However, we wanted it to be completely different from any other career fair, conference or program. The goal was to immerse students in a weekend that is interactive, educational and fun.

This (was) the most powerful two days of my life, and I do not say this lightly. I will never be the same, said Phillip Agnew, a student at the 2004 Monster DLP held at the University of Chicago.
