Monster today announced a series of enhancements to help job seekers find and apply for more jobs in less time, while helping to provide employers with a more robust pool of quality applicants. These new features minimize time spent looking for the right job, and proactively deliver potential job opportunities to the seeker in real-time, offering greater convenience and time-savings.
A newly redesigned homepage allows immediate access to important information in the seeker’s My Monster account, offering a more personalized overall experience. Also, a continuously updated list of Recommended Jobs, based on the seeker’s skills, experience and location, is now available on the My Monster page. In addition, a new privacy feature will soon let seekers prevent their resumes from being seen by specific employers.
The U.S. labor market continues to strengthen, as reflected by a 4.9 percent national unemployment rate as well as a surge in online job demand during the month of August, according to the Monster Employment Index. Job seekers are now in an enviable position, faced with an abundance of opportunities. The enhancements on monster.com will not only help facilitate a better match by identifying jobs that best fit seekers’ credentials and career goals, but dramatically decrease the amount of time spent searching and applying, said Brad Baker, Chief Product and Marketing Officer, Monster. Employers benefit because they will have a greater number of qualified candidates from whom to choose.
In October, Monster will launch Privacy Plus, a feature that allows job seekers to block up to five companies from viewing their resume. This feature addresses a major hurdle for many potential job seekers who are hesitant to post a resume for fear their current employer may see it.
New tools and features include:
QUICKApply: Seekers can now apply for a job with the click of a button. With one completion of the QUICKApply profile - which includes resume, cover letter and target job title - seekers avoid redundant steps when submitting for a job. A feature unique to Monster, QUICKApply automatically sends essential information to the employer.
Recommended Jobs: Each time a seeker visits the My Monster page, an updated, real-time list of Recommended Jobs is presented when relevant matches are identified. These jobs are specifically inline with the key data specified in the seeker’s account profile and resume, including the target job title, location and skill set - saving the seeker time typically spent searching.
Also Applied To: After applying for a job, monster.com will instantly present a list of additional jobs based on what other seekers, who applied for the same job, also applied to. This exclusive capability provides seekers more pertinent job options without additional search time.
Seekers can quickly access job descriptions included in a Recommended Jobs or Also Applied To list and apply for positions using the new QUICKApply tool, or monster.com’s traditional apply functionality.
Search by Job Title: Seekers can broaden their searches by being able to then refine search results using this filter to focus in on the most relevant and meaningful matches.
The newly redesigned Monster Homepage (www.monster.com) helps seekers access information more easily. Returning seekers will be greeted by a personalized Homepage that provides them with the ability to view or create resumes; access job search agents; and quickly peruse key account information.
Also, Monster Podcasts, available in the Career Advice section of monster.com, will offer site visitors valuable information to provide a competitive edge in their professional arena or area of expertise. Audio files on myriad job-related topics may be easily downloaded onto a PC or MP3 player. An interview with Doug Hardy, co-author of Monster Careers: Interviewing, is currently available:
