Monster.com have reported that the second phase of their advertising campaign, created by Saatchi and Saatchi and produced by Propaganda, has won two awards in this yearís British Television Advertising Awards (BTAA.)
The Monster campaign was awarded two prizes in the recruitment section with ëConferenceí taking the silver and ëRun To Work,í the bronze, the highest two awards in this category. The advertisements, launched in May 2001 and continuing the theme of the award winning 2000 campaign which featured ëGrowlí and ëFootballí, reached eight of Monsterís fourteen European markets in total. These included the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Holland and Ireland. The complete campaign comprised TV and movie theatre commercials, press and radio advertisements, posters and Internet banners.
Saatchiís campaign brought Monster to the forefront of the battle of the dotcoms for brand recognition and we are very pleased indeed that their creativity has been rewarded in this way, said Jeremy Caplin, director of marketing for Monster.com Europe. Monster.com is the largest online career network in the world and as such, needs to think on a global scale without sacrificing local knowledge and appeal. Saatchiís had to mirror this thinking and devise a campaign that would resonate throughout the unique markets in Europe, appealing to all Europeans in a broad spectrum of jobs and yet respecting distinctive cultures.
The BTAA was set up to recognize the best television commercials of the year made by British production companies. The Monster advertisements were shortlisted from 1200 entrants by 18 judges.
