Adicio, the developer of web-based classified advertising solutions, and NWjobs.com, the #1 source for job seekers in the Northwest, are working together to leverage Adicio tools and increase self-service job posting revenue.
Each month, thousands of job seekers look for great jobs at NWjobs.com, a service of the Seattle Times and Post-Intelligencer. Unlike national employment web sites, NWjobs.com focuses on job candidates who live in the Northwest - qualified applicants who can interview quickly and start immediately. The site attracts nearly 160,000 unique visitors per month resulting in more than1 million job searches per month.
At a recent Adicio Best Practices Workshop in Seattle, NWjobs.com offered tips for increasing self-service e-commerce revenue and advertising leads from employers who visit their online media page.
ìIn 2006, we launched our own interstitial media kit to try and increase self-service revenue,î said Denise Lee, Online Classifieds Product Manager, The Seattle Times Company. ìWeíre proud to say that it has been extremely successful ñ re sulting in a 32% increase in revenue in the two years since launch!î
So how did it happen? NWjobs.com set specific goals so they could measure their success. They wanted to increase self-service job posting revenue, create a ëone-stop-shopí for online advertisers to find product information, and promote upsells in addition to their standard job postings. In order to provide more self-service info, they added helpful links on their media page to raise the level of help and information about their audience, site features and instructions. Then they created headings that appealed to employer needs instead of organizing options by products. They also created bullet points, pricing information, highlighted optional upsells and ad examples so customers can quickly compare options and find the right product to make their ads stand out.
Increased e-commerce revenue isnít the only success for NWjobs.com. The site also recently received a 2008 EPpy Award ó one of the nation's most prized honors for online content ó for Best Classified Web Site.
ìItís exciting to see NWjobs.com excel in their marketplace while maximizing their brand and increasing their customer base,î said Travis Fisher, Adicioís general manager of careers. ìBy offering the most innovative, effective recruitment options in their market, theyíve been able to generate additional online revenue and impact their bottom line.î
Whatís up next for the prospering website? NWjobs.com wants to increase leads for direct-Web packages to encourage frequent single job posters to upgrade to Featured Employer Web packages. Theyíre also looking to improve leads with a new ìRequest Informationî form that will not only provide better quality leads, but will also provide a way that the data can be stored and tracked.
