PlaceWare, a provider of web conferencing and collaboration services, has launched the industry''s first managed on-premise web conferencing solution in the UK. This extends its services to enterprises that require their software to be installed on their own network or data centre.
This new offering will be installed, upgraded and maintained by PlaceWare at the customer''s site. PlaceWare is the only vendor to offer this type of managed on-site web conferencing service.
PlaceWare ''On-Site Solution'' is a bundled solution that has the complete functionality of PlaceWare ''Conference Center'' hosted service, with the same level of security, reliability, redundancy and scalability. It brings together server, telephony, networking and storage components, placed at the customer''s designated site. The solution is priced depending on site assessment and capacity needs of the customer.
George Garrick, president and CEO of PlaceWare commented: For those companies required by corporate policy to put web-conference services on their own network, our specially bundled premium lets them get the same standard of service as the PlaceWare Conference Center hosted service. It meets these customers'' specialised requirements to locate PlaceWare''s secure, reliable, scalable, easy-to-use web conferencing on their premises, using their corporate network or datacentre.
PlaceWare offers applications programming interfaces (APIs) to integrate with enterprise applications and enterprise information portals, for both the on-site and the hosted service. In addition, in a bid to give customers more choices in how they buy the PlaceWare Conference Center hosted service, PlaceWare has made it easy for customers to buy web conferencing services right from the PlaceWare website.
