Revealed: The best part-time jobs for students right now

While the minimum wage for 18 to 20-year-olds might sit at £6.15 per hour, new analysis from CV-Library, the UK’s leading independent job board, has found that students can potentially earn a lot more in certain part-time roles.

In fact, the job site, which analysed average pay across 3,000+ part-time vacancies listed on its site, reveals that these are the best paid part-time jobs for students right now:

Telesales - £12 per hour

If you’re a natural people person and enjoy helping to solve problems – this is the ideal role for you. Not to mention that it tops the list for pay and often offers additional bonuses.

Administrator - £10.89 per hour

Want to gain experience in an office environment? This is your opportunity! Tasks may involve taking phone calls, filing, managing diaries and other general admin duties.

Customer Service Assistant - £10.41

Employers love candidates with great customer service skills, so working part-time in this area can be hugely beneficial to your future career prospects.

Receptionist - £10.18 per hour

Build on your IT, communication and interpersonal skills by finding a job as a receptionist! You never know who you’ll meet in this role, so it’s great for building your network.

Labourer - £9.97 per hourIf you prefer to work away from the office, this is a great job for getting outdoors. It will involve a lot of manual work, so be prepared to get your hands dirty!

Exam Invigilator - £9.82 per hour

With the exams period coming up, plenty of schools and colleges are looking to recruit invigilators to assist them in May and June. Plus, full training is usually provided!

Retail Assistant - £9.39 per hour

Whether you’re in a large store, or a small independent shop, working as a retail assistant can give you heaps of experience when you’re a student.

Kitchen Porter - £9.27 per hour

You’ll meet lots of new people as a Kitchen Porter! Working with a team to keep everything clean, you’ll also benefit from time behind the scenes in a cooking environment.

Waiting & Bar Staff - £9.04 per hour

Whether it’s serving race-goers at Royal Ascot, or bartending at events and match days at Wembley Stadium, the hours are usually flexible which suits a lot of students.

Cleaner - £8.84 per hour

While previous cleaning experience is advantageous to secure a cleaning job, all you really need is an excellent level of attention to detail!
