Right corecare announces three year employee assistance programme with DWP

ight Corecare will manage the Employee Assistance Programme for the Department for Work and Pensions

As from today, Right Corecare will manage the Employee Assistance Programme for the Department for Work and Pensions. The entire initiative offers support and advice to over 150,000 employees so Right Corecare will now be supporting three times the number of employees it has worked with in previous schemes. The new, three-year initiative will offer comprehensive support to help individuals deal with a range of personal or work-related issues.

In addition to the DWP, employees of Department for Education and Skills, Department of Health, Food Standards Agency, Meat Hygiene Service and NHS Pension Agency, will also be entitled to use the EAP.

Specially trained helpline advisors and counsellors are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and as part of the scheme, employees can receive professional advice on emotional issues, such as problems with personal and working relationships, through to legal and financial guidance. All conversations are completely private and confidential, and the advice is limitless and free of charge.

A spokesperson for Contract Management at the DWP comments, Modern lifestyles can place immense stress and strain on individuals, and events and situations outside the workplace can put staff under extra pressure in their professional lives.

The Employee Assistance Programme ensures that we continue to offer practical advice and emotional support to staff who feel that they cannot manage a particular issue by themselves. Providing support is a fundamental part of DWPís work ethos, and our EAP allows individuals or their managers to tap into a unique and valuable resource .

The EAP scheme will require a staffing infrastructure of more than 50 people, including more than 30 counsellors working throughout the UK, managed via a project team at Right Corecareís Fareham headquarters.

Jayne Carrington, managing director of Right Corecare, comments, The DWP has entrusted us for a further three years with this most important project and continues to invest in the well-being and productivity of its employees. This commitment will be repaid with increased retention, employee engagement, and more positive relations between employer and employees, all contributing to a happier, more productive workforce.

The new programme, resulting from our previous successes in working with the DWP, will allow us to support many more employees and we are committed to making a difference.
