Select Education is rapidly rolling out their personalised version of ProNet, Merlin, to all of their branches and are currently well ahead of schedule. Once all the issues surrounding data migration from their old system and customisation of ProNet to meet their specific business needs were complete, the implementation became relatively straightforward and Select Education have been able to roll out at quite a pace, doing several branches in a weekend at a time, with little or no support required from First Choice.
Select Education was formerly part of the Vedior Group that recently merged with Randstad to become Randstad Professional Services, the second largest recruitment group in the world. Select Education spent over a year examining all the systems that were available to them in the UK market before finally choosing ProNet.
Roy Snart of First Choice Software said that ProNet was really the obvious choice but that the decision to change supplier after so long was never going to be easy. ìWe see it all the time with hundred plus user companies. They often have systems that have been in place for over a decade and despite the fact that those systems are clearly holding their businesses back, they worry about the disruption and effort that goes hand in hand with doing something about it. So much so that many donít even bother to look at the alternatives! Our experience with Select Education and other large companies, particularly over the last six months, shows that itís nowhere near as bad as they think it might be (with the right partner) and that the end result, having software that has been developed in this century, is well worth it!î
