Some hiring managers plan increase recruiting budget

.

The job market may be sluggish, but a new survey has found that 1 in 4 hiring managers plan to increase their recruitment budgets for the rest of the year.

Online recruitment firm CareerBuilder.com''s survey also found that almost half of those hiring managers typically fill open positions within 14 days or less.

The survey found that job seekers should be aware that more than one-third of employers rated appropriate work experience as the top factor influencing the selection of a candidate.

A candidate''s professional behavior during the selection process is also a major influence. And a potential employee''s fit within the company culture and a recommendation from within the company tied for third.
One of the top things a candidate can do to improve the chances of landing a job: do your homework and research companies of interest. Doing something unique can also help you stand out; call the hiring manager directly and offer to do a project to demonstrate your value.
