St Andrew’s Healthcare is an NHS England Diversity and Inclusion partner, and recently launched its latest Diversity and Inclusion report which details the charity’s commitment to inclusive healthcare and how they are growing their people and culture.
Around 20% of staff at St Andrew’s are Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME), which is higher than the national average of 12%, and in line with the NHS, where 21% of staff identify as BAME. Also, many of the Clinical Directors are from a BAME heritage, and 15% of Board members come from a BAME background – one of the highest figures in the UK.
St Andrew’s also recently supported LGBT+ History month[i] and has had an active LGBTQ+ network for several years, which aims to help people feel they can ‘bring their whole self to work’, because those that feel they must hide their identity in the workplace often suffer in terms of both wellbeing and performance.
