Offices across the land will be sizzling with sexual tension this Valentineís Day, according to a new survey which claims over two thirds of us have had a crush on someone we work with.
68% of people quizzed in the online poll admitted fancying a co-worker at some point in their career ñ and almost half said they had fantasised about their boss.
The survey of 2,000 visitors to top discount health and beauty e-tailer, halfpriceperfumes.co.uk, found that 27% of people met their partner at work.
However, the results also showed only 6% of them still work together, suggesting the reality of sharing an office with someone you fancy isnít all plain sailing.
A massive 77% of people with crushes on colleagues said they had not told the object of their desire for fear of public humiliation or being forced to leave the company. Meanwhile, 17% said pressure from their employer had caused the break-up of a relationship with a colleague.
23% of respondents said they hadnít acted on their emotions because they were already in a relationship, while 15% admitted to adultery with a colleague.
Jason Zemmel, owner of halfpriceperfumes.co.uk said: ìWith so many of us spending more time at work than at home with our friends and families, it isnít surprising that the office has become a hotbed of desire.
ìHowever, the stigma of mixing personal and professional lives, and increasing importance on career progression, also means fewer people are likely to pair up with co-workers now than they were in the past.î
