Unique Format Spells Success for CareerXroads Colloquium

Record Membership & A Sell-Out for First Meeting of 2006

CareerXroads announces that the first Colloquium Meeting of the year is sold-out - a trend mirroring the record membership of this yearís CareerXroads Colloquium ñ 50 members with more still registering. Members hail from such well-respected organizations as Abbott, Gillette, Merrill Lynch, Pepsi and Yahoo!

For four years CareerXroads principals, Gerry Crispin and Mark Mehler, have pulled together recruiting professionals from some of Americaís top companies for a unique and rewarding forum known as the CareerXroads Colloquium. The Colloquium comes together through actual meetings and webinars giving recruiting leaders an opportunity to exchange ideas, survey the group and stay abreast of current trends. Recruiting professionals at member firms recognize that the HR industry is fast becoming a crucial part of an organizationís leadership team and they are seeking a group like the CareerXroads Colloquium to help them develop and best serve their company.

Scott Biggerstaff, Manager, Recruitment Processes, Systems and Metrics of Sprint states, ìI joined the Colloquium because I respected the reputations of Mark & Gerry. Once I was part of the Colloquium I knew Iíd never leave, the collaboration with peers, discussion of current topics and tangible takeaways make this group extremely valuable to me and my company.î What makes this gathering different from others out there?

- Itís not a gathering of talking heads. CareerXroads Colloquium meetings are centered on member-generated topics where volunteers present their best practices.

- The free exchange of ideas with peers - what’s said in the room, stays in the room - no vendors are allowed to participate in Colloquium sessions.

- The CareerXroads Colloquium goes far beyond the meetings. Throughout the year Colloquium members participate in webinars, surveys and research led by Mehler & Crispin ñ two recognized experts in the field with more than 50 years of combined experience.

ìWe are fortunate enough to work with some of the top professionals in the recruiting field,î notes co- founder Gerry Crispin. ìIn various discussions with them we heard common themes, common questions and it sparked the idea ñ why not get these people together and let them share and learn from each other.î The formula is working as Brian Cox, Operations Manager for U.S. Recruiting & Staffing at Lilly notes, The quality and level of Colloquium members has proven to be a gold mine. The Colloquium benefits our company in two ways...we are able to connect with peers in the recruiting industry on current key topics for timely benchmarking and best-practice sharing as well as allowing developmental opportunities for our staff who we rotate at the meetings based on their area of expertise. The CareerXroads Colloquium started with a meeting on the East Coast in 2002 and soon grew into four annual meetings held in locations across the country. For 2006 the Colloquium will meet five times with a special session in the summer focused on the niche topic of college recruiting.
