''This is exactly what the service is designed to do!'' exclaimed a delighted Gordon Davidson, Chief Operating Officer and co-founder of VacancyVault. As the service has matured, the company now boasts a small but stable client portfolio of recruitment companies of all disciplines. From researching these customers, during July 2003, it was found that eighteen recruitment companies had billed over 100,000 in placement fees with new clients identified using the system.
As a former recruitment professional, Davidson explained that the information that his company provides is only ''half the story''. ''These are testing times, and ''New Business'' recruiters have an exceptionally tricky time at the moment. Yes, the information is important - but often it can be the added confidence gained from knowing the detailed ''recruitment profile'' of a prospect that actually makes the difference. We''ve had examples of very similar companies who have used the service but have experienced very different results. The conclusion that I am beginning to draw from this, is that, during this downturn, many companies have been forced ''to play'' ''Account Managers'' in the position of ''New Business Sales Execs'' - and the truth of the matter is that, they are not.
The company, now in it''s fourth year of trading, has recently moved into new offices in central Edinburgh close by the First Minister of Scotland''s official residence.
