With all the doom and gloom facing the UK economy, one local recruitment firm is making a stance to be individual and upbeat, a refreshing break from the norm.

Career Matters was established in 2001 by Carole Hetherington FCIPD. With over 25 years of senior level HR experience, Carole launched the company after taking voluntary redundancy at the end of 2000.

The business has since expanded and as a natural and promising extension of the brand, Career Matters Recruitment was launched in June 2008. CMR specialises in permanent recruitment solutions across all industry sectors whilst concentrating on the right people rather than the industry they work in.

Director Ian Hetherington of CMR says, ìThere are thousands of traditional staffing companies available to choose from, many rarely deliver against their promise. At CMR people come first. We care. This differentiates us from the norm. Our business is based by understanding individuals and their business and how they operate. CMR offer a number of products and services both with a direct and honourable approach to help grow and add value to your business whilst saving you valuable time. Thus eliminating stress and helping you to achieve optimum value for moneyî.

The dedicated team at CMR is made up of vastly experienced recruiters and CIPD qualified HR specialists. Ian believes 95% of business is gained through networking and referral, a method that is even more important and successful in times of a recession.

In addition CMR have a unique selling point available to their clients, a product that Ian believes all consultancies will offer in the future- Candidate Video Profiling. This product really does do what it says on the tin. CMR has already seen a real demand for this new technology and due to the success of CMR in this tough economic climate, Ian decided to rapidly expand the business and in the New Year launched a franchise model across the UK.
