Gigi Chung has risen through the ranks of technical and engineering recruitment agency RoS International since joining the company in 2000, to be appointed as a director earlier this month.
Gigi joined RoS International after graduating from the University of Hull with a BA (Hons) in European Business.
Initially she supplied NHS trusts with technical and engineering staff, but a change in the political landscape saw her shift the focus of the business to power generation, providing engineers to some of the biggest energy infrastructure projects in the UK including West Burton power station in Lincolnshire and Ferrybridge in West Yorkshire.
During her time with RoS, she was branch manager at the company’s York office for five years and has been branch manager in Hull for the past eight.
Gigi said: “I was delighted to be offered a directorship at RoS and was very keen to accept it. Ros International is an exceptional company to work for. I am very excited to play a greater role in guiding the future direction of the company.”
Gigi added that the company’s longstanding expertise in energy and power generation meant they were well placed to work in the renewables industry which is now gathering pace across the UK.
RoS International, which is based on Parliament Street in Hull, supplies workers to the Energy from Waste sector as well as other green energy technologies including on and offshore wind farms.
Gigi said: “RoS International has been operating for 25 years this year and during that time we have always adapted to the prevailing marketing conditions and targeted the dominant industries. But our core service of supplying highly skilled technical and engineering staff to a range of industries remains.
“Renewables are such a huge part of the UK’s energy mix now and RoS, with its expertise in this sector, is making serious in-roads into the market. A significant part of my Directorship will be to ensure we become more entrenched in that burgeoning sector.”
