Onrec: What were you doing before TPF Recruitment
TF: I previously worked at a FTSE 250 International recruitment business as a Senior Manager in their Kent office, looking after Accountancy, Human Resources, Procurement, Marketing, Engineering and Legal recruitment across the South East.
Onrec: Do you have plans to expand globally?
TF: No, our focus will initially be on Kent, Sussex, Surrey and London but we plan to push into further locations across the UK as we grow over the next few years. We have a large network of contacts in the South East and our primary objective is to further strengthen our working relationships with those businesses over the next 12 months.
Onrec: How many people do you employ?
TF: Currently it’s just me but I have plans to scale the business up over the next 3 years and expand our recruitment offering into new locations and different sectors, and industries.
Onrec: What makes TPF Recruitment different to your competitors?
TF: What sets TPF Recruitment apart is our network, our track record and our market knowledge. We have an exclusive network of over 10,000 accountancy practice professionals and over 2,000 businesses in the South East. In the last 6.5 years, I have personally placed over 500 accountancy practice candidates and I’m confident that we can provide our candidates and clients with unparalleled, specialist market information to best shape their careers and businesses respectively.
Onrec: If you were not working in recruitment today, what would you do?
TF: If I wasn’t working in recruitment, I’d still be working in aviation. I left the Royal Air Force, where I was working in Air Traffic Control, for a career within recruitment. To be honest, I thoroughly enjoy recruitment and haven’t looked back since!
Onrec: What’s your biggest achievement?
TF: One of my biggest achievements within recruitment was being recognised by my previous employer (a FTSE 250- with approximately 1,000 staff in the UK) as the Top Accountancy Practice Recruitment consultant for the whole of the UK for the last 5 years running.
On a personal note, it has to be working alongside Prince Harry in the same office for 4 months in Afghanistan 2012.
Onrec: What do you enjoy outside of work?
TF: Outside of work, almost all of my time is spent with my family. I have a very close family and two young children, aged 5 and 3. Most of my spare time is spent looking after my children and keeping them occupied. Aside to this, I enjoy going on holidays to hot countries, playing golf and socialising with friends.
