Pixid – Headline Sponsor of REC2021 Recruitment Industry Conference

Pixid were proud to be the one and only Headline Sponsor of REC2021, Recruitment & Employment Confederation’s annual conference, which took place on 29 June.

As a leading provider of technology to the staffing and recruitment sector, we were pleased to have this opportunity to engage with REC members and raise awareness of our online recruitment tech, including our agile, mid-market contingent staffing platform, Pixid VMS.

Co-hosting VIP Roundtable

The conference opened with our very own Mark Kieve and Julian Mariotti co-hosting a VIP Roundtable discussion with REC’s Chief Executive, Neil Carberry. The Roundtable was on the topic of the current skills shortages and how contingent staffing can help address this serious issue. This was followed by interesting discussions and insights from a wide selection of prominent speakers, covering topics from recruitment technology to Diversity & Inclusion.

Inspiring Keynote Speakers

Steve Ingham, CEO of PageGroup, spoke about his road to recovery after a serious skiing incident that resulted in his being in a coma and the challenges he has faced & overcome since, pointing out that disabled people are a significant, yet often neglected pool of talent – with around 20% of the population having some type of disability.

Nicolas Hamilton another inspirational and highly talented disabled person, gave a Keynote speech about his challenging but amazing journey through life to overcome the cerebral palsy he was born with, to become a racing driver.

Interesting Panel Discussions

In the session entitled ‘How has Tech Evolved Recruitment’, Andy Ingham from Bullhorn pointed out that automation and digitisation are playing an ever growing role in the evolution of the recruitment industry, driving efficiencies. Pixid of course plays a role in this digital transformation, with products such as Pixid VMS and our Business Intelligence suite.

However, it was clear from the discussions that only when recruiters and employers harness all available pools of talent, including people with disabilities, that we can fully address the major issues facing the UK job market, including the skills shortage.
