The service is tailored to meet the recruitment needs of IoD members, many of whom are directors of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). It will incorporate online vacancy advertising, access to a database of candidate CVs and advice on all aspects of online recruitment from a dedicated team.
The new service has been created under the IoD affinity programme and expands the range of exclusive business services on offer to IoD members, supplementing the existing relationship with Boyden for the specialist recruitment of interim and non-executive directors. The service will be made available on the Instituteís website, iod.com, from September.
A recent survey from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development* revealed that the number of companies experiencing recruitment difficulties is rising. Over three quarters (76.7 per cent) of the companies surveyed encountered problems recruiting during last year ñ a rise of 23 per cent.
Sarah Ready, Director of Product Sales & Marketing of the Institute of Directors commented: Recruitment is a key element for the success and succession of any business. This is especially true for SME''s who need to find quality candidates quickly and cost-effectively. We believe that providing recruitment products, services and advice can help alleviate some of the pressures many of our members currently face. We need to offer quality services that aid members in their businesses ñ we expect them to benefit hugely from our partnership with Workthing.
Andy Baker, Managing Director of Workthing.com commented: ìTo be recognised for the quality of our services by such an outstanding organisation as the IoD is a landmark for Workthing.
ìFinding quality candidates can be an expensive and time-consuming activity for SMEs. Thatís why we offer a dedicated service team. We are really looking forward to working with the IoDís members and making a difference to their business.î
