Umbrella Body with the Criminal Records Bureau

NDF Associates, the Harrogate based consultancy, has become the first organisation of its type in the county to be registered as an Umbrella Body with the Criminal Records Bureau.

Founder Neil Fawcett commented:-

NDF Associates is a specialist personnel verification consultancy. Our business is to assist employers take the risk out of recruiting by undertaking thorough and rigorous checks of the CVs of job applicants.
The government has recognised the need for this, particularly in respect of people working in positions of trust. It established the Criminal Records Bureau for those organisations entitled access the criminal records of potential and existing employees as part of the vetting process.
To obtain such Disclosure, however, an organisation must be registered and adhere to strict codes of practice and this is not possible or desirable for everyone.
Being registered as an Umbrella Body permits us to act on behalf of organisations that would otherwise be unable to obtain Disclosure, thus helping them protect themselves and their clients.
This is particularly important for those organisations working with children or vulnerable adults but equally we would encourage all employers to look closely at their recruiting process as we have all seen the consequences of having unsuitable employees.
Research has shown that about 35% of employees have admitted falsifying their CVs, yet despite that fact, and all the recent publicity, the majority of employers do not undertake effective checks.
That said, an ever increasing number of companies are utilising our services and several well known Recruitment Agencies have chosen our consultancy to ensure that personnel provided to their clients are bona-fide.
