Interest in UK working holidays amongst Australians continues to surge

seek.com/uk

It is estimated that 200,000 Australians currently live and work in the UK (source: Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Australia) but the continuing popularity of SEEK UK amongst Australians and New Zealanders suggests the numbers of antipodean working holiday makers can only grow in 2003.

SEEK UK is part of Australia and New Zealand's leading online employment site, www.seek.com and is dedicated to those looking to live and work in the UK. SEEK attracts around 900,000 unique visitors per month and accounts for about 60% of the entire Online Employment category in Australia (source: Red Sheriff).

January statistics suggests many jobseekers have a working stint in the UK high on their lists of new year's resolutions. The site experienced significant surges in jobseeker traffic from both sides of the world suggesting the site is not only popular amongst those yet to travel but is also becoming a valuable resource to Australians and New Zealanders already in the UK. In the first weeks of January, UK based traffic has grown by 25% over full year 2002 averages whilst Aus / NZ based traffic has increased by 35%.

SEEK UK continues to grow its UK advertiser base, providing its audience a broader range of jobs to choose from. UK demand for Australians and New Zealanders appears strongest in healthcare, education, construction / engineering and more recently in retail, with the likes of The Body Shop, EasyJet and Woolworths now using the site.
