CSU appoints new head of sales

CSU, the higher education Careers Services Unit, has appointed Allan Brown as Head of Sales. Brown will be responsible for developing income and commercial opportunities across CSUís range of print and electronic products and services, primarily the Prospects Series.

Although new to the sector, Brown brings a wealth of experience working in sales and sales management for publishing companies including Haymarket Publishing, Reed Business Information, United News & Media and most recently in a business development role for the Royal Mail.

Brown, 32, says he is looking forward to the challenge of ensuring that CSUís range of products continues to meet the needs of both employers and students.

ìAs well as being responsible for the income generated by existing products I will be looking at market needs and trends and working with colleagues on the development of new products accordingly.

ìIn order for CSU to continue to invest in the higher education sector, commercial success is essential. I am excited at the prospect of being part of the team taking CSU forward and maximising the profit that can be covenanted into our charity and then redistributed back into the HE sector, either directly through AGCAS and Careers Services, or indirectly via relevant and robust research and labour market information.î
