Drake Learning Solutions, has today announced it has partnered with the City of London Police and professionals from corporate lawyers Goodman Derrick, to deliver a presentation on the misuse of drugs in the workplace. The seminar will look at how drug abuse costs UK businesses around 2.8 billion per year in lost productivity.
PC Kevin McGetrick and Harry Player from City of London Police drug specialists, will discuss areas such as current statistics, key drugs and their effects on the body, how to recognise the tell tale signs of drug abuse and how to support employees living with an addiction.
Your business might not be directly affected by drug abuse, although according to statistics there is a reluctance for companies to admit a problem exists, said Lin Winter, Marketing Manager at Drake Learning Solutions. Your staff however, may be dealing with drug addiction in the home, which in turn, will have an effect on their performance in the workplace and many companies are completely unprepared to cope with the situations that may arise she added.
The seminar aims to educate HR Personnel, Health and Safety Officers, CEO's, Directors and Managers on the importance of a drugs and alcohol policy, your rights as an employer, what steps of action you can take and what help is available to you.
