Careerjournal.com

launches complete redesign

The Wall Street Journal’s executive career site features a new look and new features, including more discussion boards, expanded salary data and greater functionality

CareerJournal.com, The Wall Street Journal’s executive career site, has launched a complete redesign, which offers enhanced search capability, faster downloads and a range of new features targeted to the needs of today’s executive job candidates.

CareerJournal.com’s redesign makes it much easier for busy managers to find exactly what they want quickly, whether it’s a particular article, a salary table or a job listing, says Tony Lee, editor in chief and general manager of CareerJournal.com. Our new look is cleaner and more user-friendly, and adopts much of its new style from the redesigned Wall Street Journal Online at WSJ.com.

CareerJournal.com research has found that many executives, managers and professionals who aren’t job hunting are still interested in becoming more career savvy, so they visit CareerJournal.com to review in-depth salary data, read columns on career management, and review job listings from competitors and vendors, says Mr. Lee.
The site attracts more than 600,000 unique visitors each month who earn an average of $113,000 annually, and only a small share of them are actively job hunting, says Mr. Lee. Our redesign recognizes that trend by offering more than 2,500 articles and discussion boards on all aspects of career management and human resources, which caters to the needs of our executive visitors.

The redesigned site offers:

Active discussion boards - Readers share their thoughts on such topics as job-hunting after age 50, the needs of hiring managers, and more.

Advanced article search - More than 2,500 articles can be searched by keyword, author or date, making it much easier to find appropriate career advice.

Stronger advertising positions - Advertisers can now find a 300 x 250 advertising position above the fold of the majority of the site’s page.

Cleaner look - Improved navigation, faster downloads and expanded job search capability.

Salary and hiring data - Expanded to include more tools and information for executive-level candidates.
