New hire for Inception Partners and top level CEO placement success

Inception Partners, the London-based leadership and advisory firm, has appointed Sanjay Gohil to head up its interim management practice

Inception Partners, the London-based leadership and advisory firm, has appointed Sanjay Gohil to head up its interim management practice.

Prior to his appointment at Inception Partners, Sanjay spent 12 years with a leading interim provider and has worked extensively with FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 businesses in both the UK and international markets.

Sanjay brings with him high level senior interim experience and has delivered senior level interims across all levels including CEOs, Finance, Operations, Sales & Marketing, HR, Programme and Project Management, Supply Chain and Transformation/Change Management.

David Higgins, co-founder of Inception Partners, said: “Sanjay has fantastic and extensive experience within the senior level interim sector and has placed many interim professionals within a broad range of businesses.

“We are delighted to welcome him to the firm not only for his extensive market knowledge, but his high level interim management expertise will also be a valuable asset to our team."

Sanjay added: “Organisations look increasingly to interim managers to help quickly respond to a changing market place and I am thrilled to have joined Inception Partners to lead its interim practice and help our clients find the expertise to help them achieve their business objectives.”

Sanjay predicts that there will be an increasing number of opportunities in 2012; he believes the sector has been stagnating for the last 18 months and that many businesses do not have the right staff in the right roles so there will be a continued but steady increase in employers recruiting flexible workers in the coming months.

Case Study

David Loosley, CEO of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology

Alex Woolgar, co founder and managing partner of Inception Partners has successfully finalised the appointment of the youngest ever candidate to hold the post of CEO on behalf of The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology (IMarEST).

The IMarEST was established in 1889 and is the leading international membership body and learned society for marine professionals, with over 15,000 members worldwide.

Alex completed an initial consulting engagement with IMarEST, in order to understand and define its vision and strategy as well as the opportunities and global challenges facing the Institute. He interviewed and evaluated the 18-strong board of trustees in order to build the exact DNA profile of the required CEO.

Alex said “Our ethos at Inception Partners is to apply our unique 360° approach to each assignment, in order to fully understand the strategic objectives of our client. This enables us then to better define the role and attributes required to deliver against these objectives. In the case of IMarEST they wanted to transform and modernise its leadership to reflect the globalisation and growth of the industry and affect a cultural shift in membership engagement, to breathe new life into such a historical organisation.”

Inception Partners completed extensive 15FQ+ psychometric profiling and in-depth interviews to create a high quality shortlist from which the board could choose a preferred candidate.

Working closely with the chairman and the board of trustees, Alex proactively managed a three stage interview process and successfully negotiated an acceptable package for David Loosley, who had previously spent 4 years with the Hydrographic office and 10 years with Williams Lea.

Inception Partners will now focus on delivering its on boarding programme that is designed to support David over the next six months to ensure his smooth integration into the Institute and enable him to make a positive impact within a short space of time.
