It will manage the selection and training of 20,000 volunteers and the career development plan of the members of the organisational committee
Adecco, the worldís largest staffing company, today announces that it has become a sponsor of the Turin 2006 Winter Olympic Games.
The world leader in human resources management, which has been present in Italy since 1997, will be an integral part of the organisational processes of the Games and will be responsible for the selection and training of the 20,000 volunteers as well as the professional career development of the 400 full-time employees of the Organisation Committee (TOROC) once the Winter Olympics draw to a close.
Adecco Italy, which has 500 branches and 2,000 employees nationwide, will manage the TOROC candidates and organise the collection of the applications through their 11 Turin branches. To facilitate the selection processes, Adecco has created a team of five people dedicated to TOROC and has also set up an onsite branch.
Potential volunteers will be able to apply online through Adecco.it or Torino2006.it and complete one of Adeccoís screening phases, Xpert online, before then being invited for an interview at one of the branches, some of which will have especially extended opening hours (09:00 ñ 12:00 at the weekends and from 18:00 ñ 21:00 on weekdays).
Of 50,000 candidates, the objective is to evaluate at least 40,000 people to fulfil the role of volunteer or team leader. Two basic training courses dedicated to the concept of Olympic culture and of leadership and team building will then be undertaken.
The partnership agreement also makes provision for a Career Management Program (CMP) whereby Adecco will undertake to support 400 TOROC employees in their professional repositioning at the end of the Games in December 2006, by providing a support platform of career development. The CMP will be developed by Adecco through a team of experts from within the Group.
Its objectives will be as follows:
1.Retention: maintain a low turn-over of TOROC staff at the end of the Olympics
2.Motivation: maintain a high level of motivation and commitment to the committee.
3.Development: plan and develop individual training courses, facilitating their professional relocation at the end of the Olympic experience
