Bond Payroll Services, the provider of Bureau and Fully Managed Payroll Services, has been accredited with the internationally-recognised Information Security standard – ISO 27001:2005. This best practice endorsement demonstrates Bond Payroll Services’ ongoing determination to improve its service and policy of optimum respect for clients’ sensitive payroll data. This is the second ISO accreditation for Bond Payroll Services in two years, as compliance with ISO 9001:2008 – the Quality Management standard – which ensures consistent customer satisfaction through the application of strong processes, was achieved in 2009.
Bond Payroll Services is a payroll outsourcing solution for organisations that do not want to, or who are unable to, run their payroll internally. Using Bond's Payrite software, which is accredited by HM Revenue & Customs, the service effectively becomes the organisation's payroll department, working to enhance professional skills and ensure a reliable and secure service.
Les Jones, Lead Auditor and Director of IQS UK, carried out the ISO auditing process at Bond Payroll Services and comments, “I was suitably impressed by the professionalism of the Bond Payroll Services team and their proactive approach to the business. Bond Payroll Services demonstrated the necessary requirements to achieve full certification for ISO 27001:2005, such as by securing their premises, computer systems and access to sensitive documents, ensuring business continuity and using cross-cutting methods to shred all sensitive documents after use. The requirements for the standard include organisation-wide procedures and policies for protection of information and a high level of integration between both internal departments and external bodies, including clients, to ensure risks and vulnerabilities are better understood and safeguarded against.”
Neil Lagden, Head of Bond Payroll Services, comments, “As a company, our prime concern has always been customer satisfaction. Having been accredited with ISO 9001:2008 two years ago, we wanted to extend our service reliability and trustworthiness and determined to attain the Information Security ISO standard as part of this.”
Lagden continues, “By the very nature of our business, we must access our clients’ highly sensitive Payroll data on a daily basis and it is therefore of paramount importance that this information is not only stored in the appropriate manner but also that access to it is managed, maintained and documented correctly. By achieving this standard, we have been able to demonstrate to our clients and prospects that we are readily equipped and prepared to securely manage their data.”
Tim Richards, Managing Director, Bond International Software, concludes, “One of the key reasons for a reluctance to commit to outsourcing is a lack of trust in the provider’s data security and respect for the client’s information. Information security is clearly therefore not something to be ignored or treated lightly. Our ISO 27001:2005 accreditation means that Bond Payroll Services can clearly demonstrate to our clients that their data is safe and secure at all times, and that we have an ongoing commitment to meeting best practice standards.”
