The CIPD, the professional body for HR and people development, has launched its new professional qualifications.
Based on the CIPD’s new Profession Map, the qualifications focus on the ever-changing landscape of HR and learning and development. The Profession Map sets out the knowledge, behaviours and values underpinning today’s people profession in the modern world of work and helps professionals to thrive in their career. The new qualifications will arm people professionals with the tools they need to solve the unique challenges they face in the workplace and to help influence and shape their organisations for the better.
The CIPD’s qualification structure has been streamlined, reducing the number of qualifications from 17 to five - with one qualification at Foundation level, two at Associate level, and two at Advanced level. Each of the three qualification levels provides a clear pathway for career progression and is aligned to CIPD membership grades. While studying, students become Student Members of the CIPD, and can then progress through membership levels with each qualification.
Learning is focused on real life scenarios and will provide professionals with skills and knowledge they can apply directly to their daily roles and tasks. The new qualifications are fully accessible, with students now able to choose whether to study entirely online, or through a combination of online and face-to-face teaching when current restrictions lift.
Victoria Winkler, Professional Development Director at the CIPD, comments:
“We are excited to launch the new CIPD qualifications which will equip people professionals with the skills and tools needed to thrive in the changing world of work. Our streamlined qualification offering will help us to achieve our vision of supporting people professionals throughout their whole career, from student to senior practitioner.
“CIPD qualifications enhance and prove an individual’s capabilities as a people professional to potential employers. They lead to CIPD designation and membership which not only increases career prospects and earning potential but also provides support to HR and L&D professionals throughout their career."
The new CIPD qualifications and a new Centre Finder tool are now live. However, applicants can still enroll onto current CIPD qualifications until 31 July 2021. For more information on the new CIPD qualifications visit: https://www.cipd.co.uk/learn/training/qualifications
